This half term Key Stage 2 are trialling a new lunchtime format.
The choice of clubs are:
Monday: Bikes (outside), Art with Jean, Sensory Integration, Parachute games and Outdoor play.
Tuesday: Football skills (outside), Pets, Let's Get Cooking, Indoor games and Outdoor play.
Wednesday: Walking (outside), Computer, Library, Music, Outdoor Play.
Thursday: Play park, Fit for Fun with June, Learning Lab, Hands, Outdoor Play.
Friday: Outside games, Soft play, Learning Lab, Dressing Up/Dolls, Outdoor play.
Last half term the children made a choice for each day in order of preference. The majority of children got their first or second choice.
The children and staff have really enjoyed the new clubs, making new friends and learning new skills !
We are planning to extend the trial to Key stage 1 and Early Years after Christmas. There are currently 3 lunchtime clubs running in school for Key stage 1 and Early Years. The groups run from Monday to Friday and there are approximately 6 children in each club. The children change groups half termly. All children in school will join a club during the term.
The clubs are:
- 'Art Club' with Jean the artist - Monday 12:30-1:00pm
- ‘Fit for Fun’ with June - Thursday 12.30-1.00
- ‘‘Story Club’ – with Celia Wright Friday 12.30-1.00 Every Friday during the lunchtime break a group of children come together in the library to enjoy a story or two. We look at pictures, open flaps, perform actions, sing songs and have a fun time listening, interacting and sharing. It is a time when children can explore- use their senses and their imagination to become ‘whoever they want to be’!
The club also gives children the opportunity during their lunch break to make choices between attending a club session, playing outside or participating in activities within the classroom.
All children across school have the opportunity to take part throughout the school year.
