Early Years - Jan Patterson and new for Autumn 2011 Teresa Allen
EYFS - Early Years Foundation Stage
Spring Term
It is 2012!
We cannot get the underline to stay off
We had some changes of room during the Autumn Term as or number is Early Years kept increasing.
Teresa and Sophie have moved into room one, with five of the younger children
Jan, Moira and our new team member Sacha, stayed in Room 2 with the now all boy group of ten.
This term out theme is 'Growing'
We have explored all the materials and tools we need to help seeds grow.
We have been out on the bus to Clays Garden centre to see plants and flowers growing.
We noticed that the bulbs we planted last term have grown shoots, leaves and little flowers. There are daffodils and crocus.
Autumn Term 2
A busy time. So much to celebrate!
Lots of Halloween party fun and a bonfire party, including sparklers, apple dunking and light room firework lights!

Autumn Term 2011
Welcome to a new school year in the Early Years Foundation Stage. We've had lots of changes of both staff and children.
We had so many new starters for September, that some children moved up into the next class sooner than we had expected. They have all settled well and like to wave to us over the fence when we are outside!
Our new starters have settled well and those returning to Early Years after the Summer Holiday have welcomed their new friends.
We've also had new carpet, new washable flooring and beautiful new blinds during the School holidays - just like Christmas come early!
We started Autumn term off with the theme of 'Faces' and everyone (except Jan) is still enjoying finding their face on the 'Faces wall'.
Summer Term 2011
WOW the Summer is here!
Early Years have enjoyed using the outside spaces around school.
We have learned about 'Our bodies' during the first half term and we are now leaning about 'Opposites'.
We like moving up and down, in and out, fast and slow!
We also like listening to music and making our own music, thingking again about fast and slow and high and low notes.
Mandy, who works with us, left the Friday before half Term and had her baby on the Saturday.
We were all excited and she came to visit us in school when 'Kirsty' was only two weeks old!
This helped us with another set of opposites a 'small' baby and 'big' children, even though we are some of the smallest children in school!
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) covers all provision for children from birth to five.
Welcome to the Early Years class! Spring Term 2011
In Early Years we learn to use all our senses to explore and find out about everything around us.
The first big event this term was Chinese New Year.
We celebrated in Assembly with the whole school. Then we took Chinese food back to the classroom and used all our senses to explore the different foods.

Looking, smelling, tasting, touching!
Learning about moving in water in the hydrotherapy pool
Developing confidence through enjoyment and achievement with support.
Learning about balance in Rebound therapy on the trampoline

Rolling, rocking, turning, spinning, over and under. Learning about objects, movement and lots more!
We had some very kind visitors from the Disney Shop. They brought everyone a toy!

THANKS SO MUCH FOR THINKING OF US AND BRINGING US TOYS TO PLAY WITH
